Volunteers are the heartbeat of the Family Resource Center!

More than 150 volunteers annually serve families in a variety of ways through FRCNT's family life education programs, outreach, adminstration, and at Family Resale, our "Best Resale Shop".

The Community Partner Award is a very special recognition to show our appreciation for a business or organization that has been especially supportive of the work of the Family Resource Center of North Texas. 

The Ann Windle Volunteer Award recognizes an outstanding volunteer whose work in support of children and families exemplifies and continues Dr. Windle’s life’s work. In a letter of full support and excitement for the great work being done at the Family Resource Center, Dr. Windle wrote “Only by coordinating services and reaching out to families can these services effectively change and improve the lives of families and of future generations.”

Volunteers come to us in many ways: an individual who makes to make a difference, and has a few hours a week or month to serve; church and youth groups; student interns and associations; civic groups; youth organizations (we LOVE Eagle Scouts!!), and our senior friends in retirement living (Get your Red Hats on over here!).

INTERNS & PRACTICUM STUDENTS: Family Studies, Health Studies, Psychology, Social Work, Marketing, Merchandising, Non-profit Management, American Humanics....we've hosted more than 250 interns since 1999. Serve a practicum or internship with FRCNT and get real-world experience! Serve as teaching assistants in parenting & prenatal; design brochures and newsletters; be a team leader at Family Resale; recruit & train other volunteers....!

Family Resale - If you love to shop, and you love people, this is your spot! Customer service, sorting donations, merchandising, register sales, shift leader. The nicest people in town come to Family Resale to shop, donate, volunteer and visit!

Family Resale On-Line - Help launch our newest adventure when Family Resale goes online. Sorting inventory into "lots", packaging orders for shipping, keeping the online store inventory current.

Bilingual support for phones and programs - We serve many Hispanic friends, and need your help to make sure that we serve them well. If you're bilingual, you can really make a difference!

Data Enty - We serve thousands of folks every year (that's the good news!). We need your help to keep them all straight! Clients, donors, volunteers, program outcomes, demographics...We need your help!

Information & Referral Specialist - Help people every day find their way to the rich resources that our community has to offer to our families who need them.

Housekeeping Helper - if you love to clean, we're your new best friend!

Puppet Theatre Performers - take our fun, innovative programs to preschools & elementary schools

Registrar & Office Assistant - Register clients for programs & classes, order office supplies, perform clerical tasks, answer phones.
